The Golden Lion is a fantastically important heritage building. However, we need your help to stop it being lost forever. There are three main ways you can help:
From time to time we run awareness and fundraising events as well as pilot projects. If you are short of time but would like to help us, these could be a great way to get involved. We will be doing open calls for volunteers so look out for them via Facebook.
Running a heritage regeneration project like this also requires lots of specialist skills; e.g. marketing, legal, accounting, building. If you are able to donate your professional skills, or offer us ‘in kind’ support, we can use this as match funding in grant applications; it’s really valuable.
We are looking for proactive and energised people that can work together as a team and want to share their skills to get involved with the Friends of the Golden Lion, the steering group set up to drive the regeneration of the building. The Friends meet regularly to organise and plan the Golden Lion’s regeneration journey. We would like to work with all levels of experience; please get in touch to find out more or look out for one of our occasional open meetings.
Do you have a corporate social responsibility programme in your workplace? If you would you consider choosing us as your project, please get in touch.
Individual financial contributions are always welcome, large or small! Please contact us and we’ll be happy to give you our bank details or a postal address for sending cheques.
Spread the word
It’s really simple, but by liking us on Facebook or talking about our project with friends, family, and colleagues you will help us to raise awareness and create a network of interest. Promoting our news and events is the best way to get people engaged with the project, and there may be people who can help us in ways we haven’t yet thought about.
